Always check the diaper bag

I will never never ever leave the house again with out checking the diaper bag for necessities! bottle, check...diapers, check...wipes, check...binkie, check...burp cloth, check...extra clothes ----WHOOPS!

Micah and I had a lunch date with an old friend who had yet to meet my new addition. She was just smitten with him. I was a bit worried that he would be fussy and uncomfortable as he had yet to go poop again for four days now. Sure enough he fussed a bit...nothing too bad but enough for me to wonder if the people around me were being disturbed. So I took him out of the car seat to hold him on my lap...bounced him around, gave him a bottle, gave him a toy, kisses etc...nothing seemed to do the trick.

About ten minutes passed when I looked down on my pants and noticed something wet. Crap, his diaper leaked!!! I ran to the bathroom in hopes that there was a changing table in there. Luckily there was. I started to undress him when I realized there was poop in his sock! OMG he finally went, and Im not at home to clean this mess up! It was everywhere...down both of his pant legs, up his back, in his socks - four days of it just came out in a public place!

So I'm cleaning him up, going through almost an entire thing of wipes when he decides that mom hasn't had enough and pees all over me. OMG I wish I was at home dealing with this. So I lean over to grab his extra clothes when I realize...I used them last night while we were out. I dont even have a blanket to wrap him in...its in the car. So I have a naked baby and its freezing out. I gather everything and go to wash up...at this point I have poop up to my elbows and pee down my shirt. I proceed to the sink and try to juggle a baby while washing one hand at a time...very challenging. I reach for the door to leave the restroom and Micah lets a big laugh and a bunch of vomit! All over me and him...and they are out of PAPER TOWELS, and I have two wipes left! Is this day going to end? I quickly walk my naked baby through the very crowded restaurant and arrive back at the table. My girlfriend just laughs...no explanation needed she says. She is a mother too:) Luckily she brought Micah a little gift which happened to be a outfit! WHO THE HELL CARES that is was two sizes too big and a summer outfit, it was clothes! I on the other hand needed a change and a shower but whatever my baby was all taken care of and dry even if I wasn't...isn't that what its all about? I will never ever leave the house without making sure everything is in there including a ziplock bag for the mess my son leaves me with:) FUN TIMES
